Im not convinced. Chess is primarily a game of memory, not problem-solving.
There
is no evidence that it does anything for self-discipline, a sense of
responsibility or character-building. Master chess players aren’t known
for their social skills or value to society, but they often are known
for their dysfunctional obsession with competition.
All it does for primary school teachers is keep the little beasts quiet.
